General advice on food

Beitrag von Das_Julchen »

Hi! We´re about to spend 3 lovely weeks in DK way up in the nothern parts (Helligso). As we have never before spend our vacation in a rental I´d appreciate any advice on what to buy for this trip (quantity, etc.). So if any of you have a sort of idiot-proof list (feeding 4) :) ...
Also, I´d be happy to hear from anybody considering sightseeing in this part of DK. (My kids are 10,8, and 1.5 years old.)
Thanks in advance!

When we started travelling to Denmark, we had loads of food and drinks with us as we thought the prices for everything were extremely high.
Nowadays we don't have any food with us an buy everything at our destination.
If you have any favourites you don't wanna miss in your holidays or have any allergies and need stuff for a special diet, I would suggest to take these things with you, otherwise not necessary.
When you look through the advertising papers in the houses or at the supermarkets you can find out everything about current bargains. So you know where you get what you need and you can compare prices to make it cheaper.
And why not trying local foods like the danish bread rolls or pies?
On the other hand you have a lot more room in your car, if you don't have to take all the food with you.

Happy Holiday!

Hello
if your 1,5 year old needs diapers, thats one thing that is expensive in denmark, also "special" food for toddlers.
Anyway, i would not take too much food with me, there are a lot of supermarkets wich give you offers like -take 6, pay 4-.
Imo denmark is not that expensive anymore, exept alcohol and restaurants.

Enjoy your yourself.

Thank you so much, Guys! I´ll definitely take those diapers and skip the rest... well, close anyway . And my kids were thrilled when they surfed the "turistguide" - it looks like we made the right decision by choosing DK after all. To all of you who have a trip ahead - enjoy yourselves! We´re looking forward to our own little DK-adventure... :D
